Terms of use

The rules for using GoCheck, as a renter or as a checker. Please read them before you post a request or apply to be a checker.

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and GoCheck. By creating an account, posting a request or applying to be a checker, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use GoCheck.

How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy notice, which is part of these terms.

2. What GoCheck does

GoCheck is a platform that connects renters with independent local checkers, who visit a property for them and send a report. GoCheck is not a landlord, an agent or a party to any rental agreement, and doesn't own or manage the properties that are checked.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use GoCheck.
  • Give accurate details, and keep them up to date.
  • An account is for one person. Keep the phone or email you log in with secure: you're responsible for what's done with your account.

4. For renters

  • Describe the property and what you want checked accurately, with the questions you want answered.
  • The visit depends on the landlord or agent letting the checker in at the agreed time. GoCheck and the checker can't force entry.
  • Accept the report, or open a dispute, within 3 days of it being delivered. If you do neither, the report is accepted for you.
  • Contact and pay checkers only through GoCheck.

5. For checkers

  • To become a checker you apply with your real identity and payout details. GoCheck verifies them and decides whether to approve you, and may withdraw approval if these terms or the code of conduct are broken.
  • Checkers are independent: they choose which jobs to accept and are not GoCheck's employees. You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
  • Visit only at the agreed time and with the permission of whoever controls the property. Respect the people living there and the neighbours, and don't photograph people without their consent.
  • Report only what you saw yourself on that visit, with photos and videos you took there. Never invent, copy or edit findings.
  • Follow the checker code of conduct, and don't take payment from renters outside GoCheck.

6. What a report is (and isn't)

A report records what the checker observed at the property at the time of the visit. It isn't a structural survey, a legal check of ownership or permits, or a guarantee about the property, the landlord or the rental. The decision to rent is yours.

7. Payments, cancellations and refunds

Prices are shown in rupiah on the Pricing page and on each checker's profile, and the price you see is the price you pay. Payment through GoCheck is coming soon: until it opens, nothing is charged. Once it does, GoCheck holds your payment until you accept the report, then pays the checker.

  • Cancel free of charge from My requests up to 24 hours before the visit starts: the start of the chosen time slot, or the start of the first day of a flexible range.
  • Within 24 hours of the visit, you can only cancel through GoCheck support, and 30% of the price is kept and paid to the checker.
  • If the landlord refuses entry after the checker has travelled, 40% is paid to the checker as a travel fee and the rest is refunded.
  • If the checker cancels late or doesn't show up, you get a full refund.

In a dispute, a GoCheck reviewer compares the report with the standard template and your questions, and decides on a full release to the checker, a partial refund or a free re-visit.

8. What's not allowed

  • using GoCheck for anything unlawful, or to harass, mislead or defraud anyone;
  • posting fake requests, reports, reviews or applications, or using someone else's identity;
  • sharing other people's personal data beyond what a check needs;
  • trying to get around GoCheck's security, limits or payments, or collecting data from the site with automated tools.

9. What you upload

You keep the rights to the text, photos and videos you add. You allow GoCheck to store and show them as needed to run the service: for example, a report to the renter who asked for it, and a checker's profile to renters. A renter may use their report to make their own rental decision.

10. Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. You can close your account at any time by emailing hellogocheck@gmail.com. Requests already under way are finished or refunded under the rules above.

11. Our responsibility

We work to keep GoCheck available and accurate, but can't promise it will always be. As far as Indonesian law allows, GoCheck isn't responsible for the property, the landlord or the rental agreement, or for indirect losses, and our total responsibility for a request is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Indonesian consumer protection law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as GoCheck changes, and will update the date at the top when we do. If a change matters for you, we'll tell you before it applies. Using GoCheck after that means you accept the new terms.

13. Law and language

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. If there's a disagreement, we'll first try to settle it with you directly; if that doesn't work, it goes to the competent courts in Indonesia.

These terms exist in Indonesian and English. If the two versions differ, the Indonesian version applies.
